Church and Community Cookout
The Missions Committee will be hosting a church and community cookout tonight (June 13) at 6pm. If you feel so inclined, bring a desert or a side dish to share, or just come for the good food and fellowship! For the first time this year (weather permitting) supper will be outside |
Can you hear me now?
We have installed a new hearing aid system at Boston Square which will broadcast a signal directly to your own hearing aid. To use this system you must activate the T-Coil switch found on many hearing aids. If you do not have a hearing aid or if yours does not have a T-Coil switch we have two portable headsets in the narthex which are available to use during services. |
"Stretch and Flex" Exercise Class
Come join the fun and meet our neighbors at a "Stretch and Flex" exercise class here at Boston Square. These classes are for men and women and work on strength, balance, cardio and flexibility. We begin each class with chair exercises. We meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 am till 10:00am. The cost is $3.00 a day and there is no need to sign up ahead of time, just come meet this great group of poeple. This is a Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Class. If you have any question call Parks and Recreation at #456-3696. |
Nursery Pager System
Boston Square's nursery now has a pager system, donated by Calvin College. Parents/guardians must sign their child in to the nursery and take a pager. The pager number will be written on the sign-in sheet as you sign your child in. Make sure to turn the pager on and make sure that it buzzes. When you come to pick your child up, remember to turn the pager off and return it to the nursery volunteers. Hall monitors will also carry a pager for the duration of the service so that the nursery volunteers can easily summon them if they need assistance. |

First Sunday of Lent
Next week Sunday we begin the season of Lent with a time of repentance and reflection on our need for a savior. We will celebrate communion in the pews and also use one of the traditional communion liturgies from the Psalter Hymnal. |
Gluten-Free Cookies
Gluten Free Cookies are now available during coffee fellowship time after the morning service each week. They will be set aside to avoid contact with the other cookies. Just ask the server for a gluten free cookie if you would like one. |
Ping-Pong Tournament
Sharpen those cleats and re-string your paddles…it’s time for the first ever Boston Square Ping-Pong Tournament! Sign-up in the back of church if you’re interested (you may still come on Saturday even if you haven’t signed up, but it sure helps us plan if you can let us know today!). All ability levels are encouraged to participate. We’ll use a World Cup format—starting in pools of four or five. The top two from each pool will enter the double elimination “Golden Paddle Playoff” and the rest will go into the “Silver Paddle Playoff”. Those who aren’t playing are encouraged to come by to encourage and lift up all those who have been beaten to a pulp by Pastor Jay. It may not be international competition, but you won’t have to travel 3,000 miles either. We’ll have hotdogs going all day (until competition ends) and plenty of snacks to share. The balls start bouncing at 9 am. See pictures and videos: Ping Pong Tournament 2010 |
